AlertsStayed abreast of changing weather when conditions are severe the National Weather Service’s (NWS) severe weather alerts. Alerts are sent when the NWS predicts dangerous or unsafe weather conditions such as thunderstorms, flash flood, blowing snow, etc. There are over 150 conditions available from the NWS. Each alert is assigned a set time period for when the alert is active for. For example, Severe Thunderstorm Warning from 2PM to 3:45PM. If the alert is an ongoing event such as a flash flood, the NWS will indicate that the alert will be active “until further notice”. Alerts will disappear from the city list when the alert duration expires. |
